Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our Arabic education and cultural consulting services.
What is the difference between Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) and Levantine Arabic?
Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) is the formal, standardized version of Arabic used in media, literature, official documents, and formal settings across all Arab countries. It's the 'lingua franca' that educated Arabs everywhere understand. Levantine Arabic refers to the spoken dialects of Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine—it's what people actually speak in daily life in these regions. Many learners study both: MSA for reading, writing, and formal contexts, and Levantine for natural conversation.
Which dialect should I learn—MSA or Levantine?
It depends on your goals. If you're learning Arabic for business, diplomacy, or academic purposes, start with MSA. If you want to communicate with family, travel, or have natural conversations with Levantine speakers, focus on the dialect. Many students find value in learning both—we can create a customized program that addresses your specific needs.
Do you offer online lessons?
Yes! Online lessons are available worldwide via high-quality video conferencing. Online sessions offer the same personalized instruction as in-person meetings, with the convenience of learning from anywhere. Most corporate clients and international students choose this option.
Where are in-person sessions held?
In-person sessions are available in the South Bay area of California, specifically in Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, San Jose, and Milpitas. Sessions are typically held at public libraries or at the student's residence. Please note that all in-person sessions must be in dog-free environments due to allergies.
What does 'Cultural Consulting' include?
Cultural consulting prepares you or your organization for successful interactions with Arab colleagues, clients, or partners. This includes understanding business etiquette, negotiation styles, hospitality customs, communication norms, and common cultural misunderstandings. It's ideal for executives traveling to the Middle East, companies expanding into Arab markets, or anyone seeking to build stronger cross-cultural relationships.
How do I book a session?
Simply fill out the booking request form on our website. Provide your contact information, preferred service type, and whether you'd like online or in-person sessions. We'll review your request and respond within 24-48 hours with availability and next steps.

We accept Zelle, Venmo, and cash (for in-person sessions). Corporate clients can request formal invoicing for their organization. All sessions are confirmed manually after booking request approval.
How long is a typical session?
Standard sessions are 60 minutes, though 90-minute and 2-hour intensive sessions are available upon request. Session length can be customized based on your learning goals and schedule.
Do you work with complete beginners?
